Firm bolsters its growing commercial real estate and litigation practices MELVILLE, NY (June 10, 2009) — Attorney Michael J. DiLeo has joined the Melvillebased law firm Brown & Altman, LLP, as a senior associate and will be practicing in the areas of commercial transactions, financing, leasing and commercial litigation.

Prior to joining Brown & Altman, DiLeo operated his own real estate investment and consulting firm, where he assisted commercial lenders and hedge funds in facilitating various real estate financing arrangements and loans to real estate developers.

Prior to operating his own business, DiLeo was a senior associate at Phillips, Lytle LLP, in New York City, where he concentrated on asset-based lending transactions, workouts and commercial litigation. He began his legal career at the prestigious law firm of Rivkin, Radler, LLP, in Uniondale, N.Y.

DiLeo received his law degree from the Hofstra University School of Law in 1994, where he was a member of the Labor Law Journal. He obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree in finance with a minor in international relations from Fairfield University.

He is a member of the New York State and Connecticut State Bars, and is admitted to the U.S. District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York. He serves on the Town of Oyster Bay Save Environmental Assets Fund Advisory Committee and the Landmarks Preservation Commission. He also is active in and serves on the boards of directors of other local civic and charitable organizations. A native of Massapequa, DiLeo played collegiate lacrosse at Fairfield University, and is active in youth lacrosse on Long Island. He now resides in Sea Cliff with his wife, Michele, and their four sons. He enjoys outdoor activities with his family and friends, including golf and skiing.
